Four years ago, a 'Dirty Dozen' fought $118 million lottery battle

The Chicago Tribune reports:
When Chicago attorney Michael Haugh met his 12 clients at the Illinois lottery office to claim their $118 million jackpot from May 4, 2012, he knew they needed to put a name on the paper.

Standing in the reception area, somebody "threw out, 'How about 'The Dirty Dozen?'" Haugh recalled in a recent interview.

The nickname for Haugh's clients, mostly workers from Pita Pan bakery in Chicago Heights, was "meant to be a little bit of humor," Haugh said.

"Whistling (past) a graveyard since we knew there was going to be a likelihood of a dispute," Haugh said. "It was not intended to mean we were bad guys."
