The Chicago Sun-Times reports on slippery Barack Obama:
The new jobs he touts are more likely to be lower-pay work in service and retail businesses. More than 7 million Americans are stuck in part-time jobs because they can’t get full-time work. African Americans, Hispanics and younger Americans suffer higher jobless rates. Wages are flat, keeping median household income 8 percent below 2007, while food and energy costs have risen.
His boasting about the stock market means the 1 percent Obama usually derides as the undeserving rich are doing spectacularly well in the Obama economy. Everyone else, not so well. It’s not surprising that poll after poll registers Americans’ dissatisfaction with Obama’s fiscal policies, the status of their own finances and the outlook for the country.
The president’s speech was in part aimed at trying to turn those polling trends around. And he wants to boost Democratic prospects in next month’s elections, prospects that right now don’t look particularly good in many parts of the country.
There's more:
Remember his Obamacare promise that if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance? That was called the lie of the year for 2013 by the fact-checking organization Politifact after millions of Americans saw their policies canceled last year because of the Affordable Care Act. Another reminder of that falsehood is coming as the Washington Post reports that thousands of Americans who got a reprieve last year will see their policies ended this year and be forced to buy another, possibly more costly insurance policy.
What con man doesn't try to "convince" you things are better as he separates you from your money?
