Alderman warns Rahm Emanuel not to mess with Ed Burke

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel would have a tough time removing Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th) as Finance Commitee chairman — or even diluting the committee’s strength — because the City Council is a “family” whose members stick together, an influential alderman said Friday.

“It would be real hard for a lot of the aldermen to go against Burke. We’re all good to each other. We support each other,” said Ald. Walter Burnett (27th), chairman of the Council’s Black Caucus.
Family: Chicago style.
