Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias will enter the 2010 race for U.S. Senate and officially launch his campaign during a seven-city statewide swing beginning Sunday in Chicago and Springfield. We must hand Alexi Giannoulias credit, there is much symbolism in his choice of kicking off his campaign: in Chicago's old First Ward at 720 S. Michigan Ave. Is Giannoulias trying to put a smile on John D' Arco Jr.'s face? No word yet on whether Illinois Democratic Party Chairman Mike Madigan will stop being embarrassed by Giannoulias' Chicago Mob ties. Barack Obama isn't embarrassed about Alexi Giannoulias' ties.
