New Government Run School Named After Dianne Feinstein

The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
It's opening day at Dianne Feinstein Elementary School, San Francisco's newest.

Nearly 260 children will pour into its pristine hallways and immaculate classrooms this morning, filling the building with noise and chaos for the first time.

Just four days ago, parent volunteers were unpacking boxes of textbooks as Principal Michelle Chang walked through the echoing halls, peeking in classrooms and admiring the colorful bulletin boards, organized chairs and special touches teachers have been putting in place all summer.

In a kindergarten classroom, perfectly sharpened Ticonderoga No. 2 pencils were lined up in a box next to plastic containers filled with primary-color crayons untouched by chubby hands. Teddy bears waited patiently on padded benches.

"I can't wait until the kids get here," Chang said. "Just to see their eyes light up when they see the library and the playground. All children deserve a school like this."

For those unaccustomed to state-of-the-art schools, at 69,000 square feet, Feinstein Elementary is a site to behold.
Does McCain-Feingold apply here? Why should Dianne Feinstein get permanent free publicity?
