Big Chicago art fair up in the air

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Art Chicago, an annual fair where millions of dollars of art is sold to collectors from around the world, is in disarray just days before it was to open in Grant Park.

Officials said Tuesday night that the expo was abandoning Grant Park for another unannounced location despite an enormous double tent that has been constructed near Monroe and Columbus for the fair.

An Art Chicago spokeswoman blamed a flooring problem with the tent that prevented occupancy. But financial problems have also been swirling, with Art Chicago owner Thomas Blackman scrambling to raise cash in recent days.
