The Plot To Shut Down Free Speech

Brian Anderson reports on the big move to regulate speech. We'll quote you one gem from the article:
McCain-Feingold, the latest and scariest step down that slope, makes it a felony for corporations, nonprofit advocacy groups, and labor unions to run ads that criticize—or even name or show—members of Congress within 60 days of a federal election, when such quintessentially political speech might actually persuade voters.
So when John McCain appears in the movie Wedding Crashers as a cameo is this "product placement" if it appears on cable T.V. 60 days before an election? Is HBO supposed edit out the scene or is the F.C.C. going to ban the movie 60 days before an election? Is it fair for McCain's opponent to be at a disadvantage? You see the madness in the whole thing? John McCain plus the New York Times editorial page plus Pew and Soros money want a monopoly on speech.
