Orange residents pack City Hall over housing plan

The Orange County Register reports they want to limit supply:
Residents packed City Hall on Tuesday for the second time in a month to air concerns about the Irvine Co.'s proposed 4,000-home development east of the city.

The project would add 12,000 residents to Orange as well as a 20-acre sports park, trails, a 100-room inn and possibly a golf course.

While real estate analysts say the homes would help meet a strong housing demand, the project has faced opposition from environmentalists and residents who want to protect the area. Residents also fear that traffic will worsen on already-congested streets.

"If I buy this bill of goods, our environmental and social culture will never be the same," said Ann DeVaney, one of about 200 people at the public hearing.
It's convenient when some people are already long real estate.
