Bakersfield Skyrocketing population and a hot housing market fuel real-estate success

Sacramento Bee reports on Bakersfield,California:
In this city of long-standing economic stagnation and a cowtown reputation, the median home price has nearly tripled in four years to $293,765.
Not bad for a town that has
fewer than 16 percent of Bakersfield's residents have college degrees. That percentage is about half the state average, according to U.S. Census figures.
