Illinois taxes burn smokers

Illinois is hard up for cash.So those who bought cigarettes off the internet are getting a bill in the mail.The Chicago Tribune reports:

Since January, the Illinois Department of Revenue has sent bills to nearly 5,000 residents who bought cigarettes over the Internet, informing them they collectively owe Illinois more than $2.1 million in back taxes, penalties and interest.
