American teens rank 34th in the world in math. The top six are Singapore, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea. The US score is 465 now, below the OECD average of 472. We spend more per pupil than almost any other developed country, get worse every cycle, and blame underfunding. But we traded rigor, discipline, and high standards for equity theater, identity politics, mass immigration, and endless excuses. The countries that prioritize competence are leaving us behind.
