What’s next for congestion pricing in New York City

Despite the Trump administration’s announcement Wednesday that it is revoking federal approval for the city’s congestion pricing tolling program, workers’ Thursday morning commutes into the city unfolded as they have for the past seven weeks. Motorists who drove into Manhattan below 60th Street were still charged a fee by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Though nothing has actually changed for the region's travelers, the MTA immediately took the Trump administration to federal court over its move to block the toll, and that legal battle is likely to be waged for months, if not years. As the court challenge and posturing by elected officials play out, here’s what city motorists should know about where the tolling program stands.
