Conservative commentators have ridiculed former Bush campaign adviser turned Democrat Matthew Dowd for suggesting Jesus would be labelled as woke if he were alive today.
The outburst by the 60-year-old Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor of Texas came after Democrat strategist James Carville blamed 'stupid wokeness' for his party's shock election defeat in Virginia, where Joe Biden won by 10 points just last year.
