New Federal Holiday Juneteenth is Newest Woke Scam Yet: Slavery Didn't End in the United States on June 19, 1865

The Congress has just passed a law giving federal workers another paid holiday. It's to honor a made up date when slavery was supposedly abolished in America: June 19, 1865. There's a big problem here, slavery didn't end in June of 1865 but months later on December 6, 1865 when the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified because Georgia became the 27th state to ratify the 13th Amendment. Sadly , historical ignorance in America is massive according to the Washington Post:

Caroline E. Janney, professor of the history of the American Civil War at the University of Virginia, noted in an email: “Although African Americans were crucial in dismantling slavery from within the Confederacy during the war, the Union Army was critical for emancipation.” “But even after Appomattox or even Juneteenth, many African Americans were re-enslaved when the Union army departed an area,” she said.

Professsor Eric Foner, America's most famous historian on the Reconstruction Era, clearly states that slavery didn't end in America until December of 1865. The Woke Left sure isn't into facts if it were it would respect the real date slavery was abolished in America.
