Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx pardons herself from parole fights

The Chicago Tribune reports:

In a letter sent Wednesday to the chairman of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx announced that her office will no longer take sides or participate in parole hearings before that board.

Is Kim Foxx abandoning another part of her job?
