This Day in History ...Slavery Was Abolished in The United States: The 13th Amendment Ratified

Today is an important day in history. On December 6, 1865 slavery was abolished in the United States. Professor Eric Foner discusses this in his important new book which we encourage everyone to read. Professor Foner reminds us that Abraham Lincoln did not abolish slavery in the United States, the 13th Amendment did.
