He was a voice of inspiration to illegal aliens. Illinois Democrats drew one of the most gerrymandered districts in America to get/keep him in Congress. Then he surprised the world , before the 2018 election, by announcing he was retiring from Congress. When the announcement was made, a knowledgeable observer of Chicago politics , with extensive background in criminal law contacted me . The source said this was odd . The Democrats were going re-take the House in 2018 and the leading visible voice on immigration reform decides to retire. This source said , it appears something is up. Luis appears to be in trouble back in Chicago.
After Luis' early retirement, news came out that Luis' close friend Alderman Danny Solis has been wearing a wire for the FBI for a couple of years. Luis is no stranger to corruption allegations given his close ties to Tony Rezko and his amazing real estate investing prowess. Luis was hired by CNN to be a political contributor but has been quite quiet since news of Alderman Danny Solis cooperating with the FBI. When Luis' daughter recently ran for Chicago Alderman , Luis went silent. There were no campaigning for his daughter. He was supposedly put in a hospital for high blood pressure. The media never figured out where the hospital was . This is odd for a national known political figure, no one saw him at any hospital and reported it to the media. Did Danny Solis wear a wire on Congressman Luis Gutierrez ? It appears more than likely he did. Danny Solis wasn't just wearing a wire on powerful Alderman Ed Burke.
The picture above is quite revealing. In the picture above, Danny Solis (on the left) was wearing a wire in that very picture unless his FBI handler gave him the day off. Next to Danny Solis is Alderman Carrie Austin who's office was recently raided by the FBI. On the left , in the picture, is Luis and Rahm Emanuel. The Danny Solis vanishing act can be explained by his sitting down with FBI agents going over transcripts for future trials. John Kass , of the Chicago Tribune contacted us on Twitter, because that picture is pretty amazing given Luis' recent silence.
Did Danny Solis wearing a wire lead to Luis Gutierrez wearing a wire? His recent silence would suggest he might have. Luis seems like the kind of guy who would "save himself" if he had to. It's quite possible that Luis has been sitting down with the FBI and going over transcripts . Or did Danny Solis catch Luis on a wire and Luis refused to cooperate with the FBI ? In the coming years, if Luis is not involved in the newest Chicago corruption scandal : I'll be the first to apologize for even suggesting he'd wear a wire to attempt to save himself. It could be that high blood pressure has caused Luis to slow down , we wish him the best. It's hard not to notice that one of Donald Trump's critics has vanished.
