Republicans Show Up to Alderman Ed Burke's Fundraiser

What's the difference between a Republican and Democrat in Illinois ? Good question. Powerful Chicago Alderman Ed Burke just got his offices raided by the feds and threw a fundraiser last night. Politico reports on who showed up to the fundraiser:

Burke, who entered the hotel through a side door, also seemed a little less jovial. In addressing the crowd, he didn’t mention last week’s raids at all. Though his tribute to the late President George H.W. Bush included a line about Bush that Burke might be taking to heart: “He maintained the moral high ground during his public dealings.”

Other notables spotted at the event: Illinois Supreme Court Justice Scott Neville, Appellate Justice Nathaniel Howse, Circuit Court Judge Jack Callahan, former state GOP House Leader Tom Cross, former state GOP Chairman Pat Brady, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Michael Cabonargi and former Ald. Mike Zalewski.

Aldermen who attended: Walter Burnett (27th), Margaret Laurino (39th), Ray Lopez (15th), David Moore (17th), Joe Moore (49th), Patrick O’Connor (40th), Ariel Reboyras (30th), Roderick Sawyer (6th) and Nick Sposato (38th).
