Over 1,300 sexual harassment complaints filed against NYC workers

The New York Post reports:
New York City agencies fielded 1,312 complaints of sexual harassment by municipal workers against their colleagues from July 2013 through 2017, substantiating 221 of them, new data released Friday reveals.

That means about one in every six cases — 16.8 percent — was substantiated and recommended for some form of punishment, data from City Hall show.

During the period, the city settled at least 34 workplace harassment cases at a cost of nearly $6 million to taxpayers.

The largest payment was $1.25 million in 2015 to settle allegations that Alexander Rojas, a NYPD lieutenant at the 44th Precinct in The Bronx, routinely groped and flashed his penis to three female underling cops, according to separate court records reviewed by The Post. Rojas, who has denied the allegations, retired a month before the settlement.
