Prominent Political Scientist Admits Grand Failure In Understanding The Election of Donald Trump

Paul Pierson is one of the most respected living American political scientists. He's taught at Harvard and was Chairman of the political science department at University of California-Berkeley where he still teaches currently. In this speech, he talks about the election of Donald Trump . He admits that political scientists weren't too good at predicting the 2016 presidential election. At around the 22:03 marker he says:
I think I know maybe one political scientist who eight months ago thought there was a good chance that Donald Trump would become President. I know way too many political scientists, so one is not a very big number.
