Hedge fund manager lectured black city official on black children's plight

Crain's New York Business reports:
Dan Loeb, the hedge fund manager and an advocate for charter schools, lectured New York City Deputy Mayor Richard Buery, one of the city’s highest-ranking black officials, for being “smug and satisfied” and failing to help “poor black kids” in a series of emails published Tuesday by Politico.

The email exchange took place from early 2014 to this summer, according to Politico, which obtained the correspondence through a Freedom of Information Act request. The mayor’s office and a representative for Loeb confirmed the emails were real.
Imagine that.
