High school drops play because original title had racial slur

NJ reports:
After "strong concerns" were raised over the choice for its fall play, Hillsborough High School decided to drop a planned production of "And Then There Were None," replacing it with "Almost, Maine."

"And Then There Were None" is based on an Agatha Christie book that, in its original printing in England in 1939, was named after a famous British song, "Ten Little N*****s." The book title was renamed "And Then There Were None" when it was published in the United States in 1940.

In a letter sent to parents, District Supervisor of Visual/Performing Arts & Related Areas Michael Callahan wrote the original title contained words that "certainly do not embrace the ideals of the 'hate has no home here' signs" displayed in the school.
No, this isn't a piece from The Onion....
