Emanuel calls on Trump to stop attacking Obama legacy and not dismantle DACA

The Chicago Tribune reports:
Mayor Rahm Emanuel had some unsolicited advice for President Donald Trump on Friday as the president considers removing some protections for immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children: Stop "tearing down President Obama's agenda and start figuring out how to build your own."

"(Trump) is also now discussing eliminating the Dreamers program," Emanuel said. "These are individuals who are both going to school, going to college, who gave their name, their address, their phone number, their email to the United States government. And now the government is using that to go after them."

"And I would say this to President Trump, not that he's going to listen to me. But you should spend less time tearing down President Obama's agenda and start figuring out how to build your own agenda," he said. "Less time trying to figure out how to end President Obama's mission to give universal health care and start to do something of your own. Because America needs building, not tearing down."

Trump's potential move was political red meat for the mayor. Emanuel spoke at the morning dedication of an outdoor event space at the historic DuSable Museum of African American History.
