Durbin, biz leaders push Trump to let 'Dreamers' stay

Crain's Chicago Business reports:
Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and local corporate leaders stepped up their plea today to President Donald Trump to let the so-called Dreamers stay in this country instead of being deported.

And they cheered new signs that Gov. Bruce Rauner will sign legislation that directs Illinois law enforcement agencies not to seize and hold someone strictly for being an illegal immigrant—unless a federal judge has issued an arrest warrant.

At a press conference, Durbin and former Exelon CEO John Rowe said that with GOP state attorneys general threatening to soon go to court to undo it, it's important that Trump reaffirm the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals executive order issued by former President Barack Obama. The order allows young people, many now in their 20s, who were brought here illegally as children to stay in the country as long as they register with the government and stay out of trouble.
Dick Durbin: fan of rule by executive decrees.
