University of Maryland creates ‘undocumented student coordinator’ position

The Washington Times reports:
Future Terrapins at the University of Maryland will be able to turn to an “undocumented student coordinator” if they are in the country illegally.

School officials have acquiesced to a student group called ProtectUMD and created a new position to handle the “immediate needs” of illegal immigrants. A spokesperson said the full-time position falls in line with the school’s “ongoing commitment to undocumented students.”

“We are assigning a UMD staff person to serve as a coordinator to address the immediate needs of the undocumented student population,” said spokeswoman Katie Lawson in a statement, Fox News reported Friday.

Sterling Beard, editor-in-chief of the education watchdog Campus Reform, told the network to expect further concessions in the years ahead.
Illegal "outreach" in the news. It would be too bad if an "undocumented student coordinator" was prosecuted for being involved in a mail and wire fraud scheme.
