Schumer wants transit workers checked against terror watch list

The New York Post reports:
As millions of Americans prepare to hit the roads and rails for the holidays, Sen. Charles Schumer on Sunday called for greater screening of transit workers.

The 9/11 Commission, an independent panel formed after the 2001 terror attacks, recommended that all transportation employees be cross-checked against federal terror watch lists more than a decade ago, according to the incoming Senate minority leader.

But while such screenings happen with airline employees, those working on the country’s rails and roads still don’t come under such scrutiny, Schumer said.
How politically correct.
