More Bad News For NFL As Sunday Night Football Ratings Fall 15 Percent

Forbes reports:
Television ratings for the National Football League remain in bad shape compared to last year.

The Sunday Night Football week seven matchp between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks on NBC drew an 11.6 overnight rating, down 14.7% versus the 13.6 overnight for the week seven SNF matchup in 2015 between the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers.

The consolation prize for NBC: Cardinals-Seahawks was a big improvement versus last week’s 9.0 overnight for the Indianapolis Colts-Houston Texans matchup in week six.

Still, when compared with last year, the NFL is going through a big ratings slump. Overall ratings were down 15% prior to this weekends games, a bigger drop than normal during an election year. In a recent Yahoo Sports YouGov poll, four out of 10 fans said they were watching less football due to player protesting during the national anthem.

The results of the aforementioned poll jive with an earlier Rasmussen poll. The results of the polls were not surprising to me.
Political correctness does end up hurting every industry it touches.
