More people moving out of San Diego than in

CW6 reports:
Believe it or not — Despite the traffic backups, parking, crowded beaches and housing options — more and more people are moving out of San Diego than moving in.

After seeing the latest census numbers, in an article in the Union-Tribune, a recent study shows you have to make $103,000 a year to afford an average price home in San Diego, but the average person only makes $51,000. That sharp contrast is forcing many San Diegans out.

Ashely Adema is expecting a child of her own, but ever since she was a kid herself, she’s called San Diego home. “I’m a San Diego native. It was a great place to grow up. I loved it,” she said.

Adema understands why all 3.3 million people in San Diego County want to live here, but in time has grown to understand why so many leave. “We really started to look at how much further our dollar would stretch,” she said.
