Kansas taking Syrian refugees because Obama won’t release their security information

The Express reports:

Governor Sam Brownback said he repeatedly asked federal government for documentation on the screening of refugees that would be relocated from Syria to Kansas.

But he decided to withdraw the plans, claiming Barack Obama’s administration has not provided the files.


He said: "Because the federal government has failed to provide adequate assurances regarding refugees it is settling in Kansas, we have no option but to end our cooperation with and participation in the federal refugee resettlement programme.”

Kansas has received a less than a dozen Syrian refugees since the resettlement programme was set up.

Only family of three and two men have been resettled there in the past 15 months, Brownback’s spokeswoman admitted.
