Spike Lee endorses Bernie Sanders, says 'he will do the right thing'

Bernie Sanders has snagged the support of Spike Lee with a new radio ad hitting the airwaves ahead of this weekend’s Democratic primary in South Carolina.

Lee says he’s endorsing Sanders because “99 percent of Americans were hurt” by the financial crisis and is confident Sanders will “do the right thing.”

“Waaaaake up! Wake up, South Carolina!” Lee says at the start of the ad. “This is your dude, Spike Lee. And you know that I know that you know that the system is rigged! And for too long we’ve given our votes to corporate puppets. Sold the okie doke. Ninety-nine percent of Americans were hurt by the Great Recession of 2008, and many are still recovering.
