Peter R. Orszag, a former cabinet official in the Obama administration turned investment banker, has joined Lazard as a senior deal maker, the company announced on Wednesday.Can you say revolving door?
Mr. Orszag, who will hold the roles of managing director and vice chairman of investment banking, will begin on May 16 and will be based in New York.
Though working as an investment banker for the last five years, Mr. Orszag is best known for his government service. He worked as President Obama’s first director of the Office of Management and Budget, holding that position from January 2009 until July 2010.
Before that, he worked as the director of the Congressional Budget Office. He also served in the Clinton administration as a special assistant for economic policy.
