Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter used his personal email account to conduct some official government business early in his tenure at the Pentagon, the New York Times reported on its website Wednesday night.Ashton Carter: the Obama regime's fraudster running the Defense Department. Laws and regulations are for people who don't contribute to the Democrat party.
According to the report, Carter continued the practice, one that violated Pentagon rules, for at least two months. The emails, obtained by the newspaper with a Freedom of Information Act request, revealed that Carter was emailing his then-Chief of Staff, Eric Fanning, and other top aides on their government email accounts. The Times received copies of 72 work-related emails with the request, and according to the report, the emails were sent from Carter’s iPhone and iPad and discussed things such as television appearances, hotels bills and legislation.
In response to the report, Carter’s spokesman Peter Cook released a statement saying that Carter “rarely uses email for official government business.” However, Cook did admit that Carter changed his email practices earlier this year.
