Hillary Clinton just backed health care for immigrants in the U.S. illegally

The L.A. Times reports:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton waded into a political debate Tuesday that has been centered largely in California: healthcare for people in the country illegally.

During Tuesday's televised presidential debate, Clinton said that she supported California's recent decision to extend health benefits to unauthorized immigrant minors and that she thinks adults here illegally should be able to buy insurance through the Obamacare exchanges.

"First of all, I want to make sure every child gets healthcare ... and I want to support states that are expanding healthcare and including undocumented children and others," Clinton said. "I want to open up the opportunity for immigrants to be able to buy into the exchanges under the Affordable Care Act."
