Will 5000 Chicago Public School Teachers Get Laid Off By Thanksgiving?

Crain's Chicago Business reports:
In a reasonable world—or at least one that works—people deal with a crisis by putting aside divisions, thinking outside the box and easing back on selfish demands.

Chicago Public Schools faces such a crisis. It has a nearly $500 million hole in the budget for the just-begun school year. Unless it's filled soon, likely before Thanksgiving, something in the range of 5,000 teacher layoffs are on the way
