If Slim is for Mexican illegals coming to America, you can understand why the New York Times would be for it (altruism isn't well known at the New York Times special privilege seeking rules). No word yet on whether Bernie Sanders thinks billionaire Slim should divest himself from the New York Times since Comrade Sanders claims he doesn't like billionaires influencing the news.
