Dem pro Axelrod: Hillary will need VP who appeals to Hispanic voters

The Boston Herald reports:
Democratic consultant David Axelrod says a running mate that can help capture the Hispanic vote may be key to Hillary Clinton if she ends up being her party’s presidential nominee.

“It has to do with who the Republican nominee is — the greatest threat is a candidate who can reach deeply into the Hispanic vote,” Axelrod said on Herald Radio.

The former advisor to Presidents Obama and Clinton pointed out that George W. Bush won 44 percent of the Hispanic vote in his victorious run in 2000, compared to Mitt Romney taking only 27 percent in his losing effort four years ago.
