The payroll of the famed New York Yankees baseball team accounted for as much as 2.5 percent of wages in the Bronx, the city borough where they make their home, according to a new report.

And the Bronx Bombers helped their home run ahead of three out of the other four boroughs in the Big Apple in terms of average wages, Crain's New York Business reported.
