Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders to launch presidential bid

The Hill reports:
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will officially launch a bid for the White House on Thursday.

A Democratic source close to the senator confirmed to The Hill that Sanders will announce his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in a statement later this week, before heading back to his home state for a campaign kick-off event early next month. Vermont Public Radio first reported his decision.
Look for the media to not report how similar Senator Sanders and Senator Clinton's voting records were. Can Hillary call Bernie a radical when she gave him money?
In the 2006 Senate election, he didn't even really run as an independent. The Democrats cut a deal with Sanders--they wouldn't run a candidate against him, in exchange for him supporting Democrats in other races.

The Democrats backed up their word by nominating Sanders in their primary, which he refused to accept to preserve his nominal independence. But Sanders did accept support from national Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Barack Obama and Barbara Boxer. He also accepted a large donation from Hillary Clinton's Political Action Committee, HILLPAC, which featured him as one of its most important candidates.
The socialists in action.
