Jeff Berkowitz Looks At Rahm's Failure

Jeff Berkowitz reports on Rahm's failure last night:

Rahm had a bad four years. He started with only 25% of the black and Hispanic kids in CPS reading at grade level and finished with that same number. Zero improvement. He closed 50 schools, upsetting a lot of residents and teachers and did very little to send those kids to markedly better schools. He raised 15 million dollars from the business community and couldn’t even spend it all. When you have kind of a nothing product, there is only so much advertising can do to overcome your ineptitude. Rahm squandered four years. He may get four more on April 7, 2015, but he will need to explain how he actually improves the ability of kids to read in CPS. All day kindergarten just doesn’t cut it. He needs to explain how he will make things much safer on the west and south sides of Chicago.
