Chicago Police officer accidentally shoots himself at courthouse

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
A Chicago Police officer was injured when his weapon accidentally went off Wednesday morning at the Bridgeview courthouse.

At 9:40 a.m., an alarm malfunctioned at the Cook County courthouse at 10220 S. 76th Ave. in Bridgeview, and the building was briefly evacuated, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

A Chicago Police officer was retrieving his weapon from a storage locker when it accidentally discharged, grazing him in the upper leg, according to the sheriff’s office.
Yet, some people claim only police officers should own handguns because they are so dangerous . No word yet on this story from Josh Marshall.
