Weitz & Luxenberg, where Mr. Silver has been of counsel since 2002, released a statement Wednesday announcing the tarnished leader's leave of absence, effective immediately. The firm, which had been paying Mr. Silver an annual salary of $120,000, asked the legislator to take the leave.
