Majority of U.S. employees not engaged in their jobs, Gallup study shows

The New York Daily News reports:
If you feel bored or apathetic at work day in and day out, you are not alone.

Less than one-third, or 31.5%, of employees in the U.S. reported being “engaged” at the office, according to a new Gallup study.

Although this figure is up from 29.6% in 2013, it still suggests that the majority of Americans dislike or feel disengaged on the job.

Gallup described “engaged” employees as “those who are involved in, enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace.”

Unsurprisingly, the people in positions of power, namely executives, managers and officers, reported the highest levels of engagement.
Commitment is a two way street.
