Hollywood digs deep for Rahm Emanuel in campaign donations

Crain's Chicago Business reports:
The Hollywood stars are shining on Mayor Rahm Emanuel, whose campaign fund just reported raking in another $740,000 or so, much of it from West Coast glitterati, though some Chicago investment moguls and Google boss Eric Schmidt opened their wallets wide, too.

Leading the Hollywood parade were record and movie producer David Geffen, $50,000; director and multiple Oscar winner Steven Spielberg, $25,000; and their Dreamworks Animation co-founder, Jeffrey Katzenberg, $10,000. A whopping $100,000 check came from recording artist Cheryl Saban, who is married to entertainment billionaire Haim Saban.

It's worth noting that the mayor's brother Ari Emanuel is one of the biggest agents in Hollywood.
Rahm Emanuel: a candidate for the Hollywood elite.
