New York paid cop for 28 years after his death

The Journal News reports:

New York State sent retired New Castle police officer Joseph Zwiefel his pension checks every month until 2005, even though he had died 28 years earlier. The mistake cost the pension fund $346,000 because someone was cashing them all those years.
