Is Dick Durbin Soft On The Police Torture of Chicago's Black Population? Durbin Appointed Daley Machine Hack From Cook County States' Attorney Office to Screen Future Federal Judges. A Look At Dick Devine.

Is Senator Dick Durbin pro-torture of Chicago's black residents by rogue Chicago police officers? Is it crazy to even ask that question? In August of 2012 , Dick Durbin issued this press release:
U.S. Senator Dick Durbin today announced the formation of a bipartisan screening committee to assist in selecting Federal District Court Judges for the Northern District of Illinois. There are currently three vacant judgeships in the Northern District, and the immediate task of the screening committee is to review applications and make recommendations to Durbin for filling current and future vacancies.

The screening committee will be comprised of 13 distinguished Illinoisans drawn from various aspects of the legal profession including former judges, prominent litigators, bar association leaders, and former prosecutors and defenders. The committee will be co-chaired by former Cook County State’s Attorney Dick Devine and Patricia Holmes, a partner at Schiff Hardin and former state trial judge and Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. (A complete list and short bios of all panel members is included below.)

“Making recommendations to the White House on judicial nominees is one of the most important jobs I have as a U.S. Senator, and I am particularly pleased that these outstanding Illinoisans have agreed to advise me in selecting the best possible candidates to recommend to President Obama,” said Durbin.
Dick Devine is the Daley Machine hack, an expert at looking the other way. Devine has been accused of cover-up concerning Chicago police torture:
Attorneys for Burge torture victim Darrell Cannon added Mayor Richard M. Daley and former Mayor Jane Byrne as Defendants in a lawsuit alleging they conspired with State's Attorney Richard Devine (pdf), Area 2 Commander Jon Burge, and numerous of his men to cover-up systematic torture of African-American suspects.

Cannon's amended lawsuit alleges that Daley and Devine were complicit in a concerted cover-up of the torture by refusing to prosecute Burge for torturing suspects, withholding evidence of this torture, prosecuting defendants who had been victimized by the ruthless police techniques, by making false statements to the media, and by giving false and incomplete statements to the Special Prosecutors.
So, Senator Dick Durbin thought Dick Devine would be a great guy for screening federal judges! Watch the video down below, if you haven't. Remember, Dick Devine was in a major position to prosecute Jon Burge but didn't! Does, Dick Durbin or Rahm Emanuel want to get to the bottom of the Jon Burge torture network that existed on the Chicago Police force? Is Dick Durbin an expert at "looking the other way" like Dick Devine?
