Chicago protesters claim cop car playing ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ proves racism (Video)

Chicago police spokesman Martin Maloney confirmed that they are investigating an incident caught on video during a weekend protest that appears to show a Chicago police car blasting the song “Sweet Home Alabama.”

The 1974 song, by the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has been deemed by some unidentified individuals as somehow supporting former Alabama Governor George Wallace, a segregationist. However, members of the band have long insisted the lyrics have nothing to do with Wallace or segregation.

No word yet on whether Rahm Emanuel will declare Lynyrd Skynyrd on the list of objectionable materials. No word yet on whether the socialists demonstrating in Chicago about upset with rap lyrics.
