It’s women on top in job recovery

The New York Post reports:
Men are losing the battle of the sexes when it comes to recovering their lost jobs from the last recession .

That’s according to a new Institute for Women’s Policy Research study, which analyzed the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers.

The institute looked at the male/female worker numbers for the recession that began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009, as well as today’s figures.

“Men are still short 71,000 jobs from the start of the recession,” the Washington-based institute said in a report. Men still have more jobs than women in America — 70.6 million vs. 68.9 million — but the gap is narrowing.
The great moments of the Obama recovery.
