Emanuel demands City Council hearing into election dirty trick : Chicago Machine Bosses Caught With Their Pants Down In Massive Conspiracy?

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

Mayor Rahm Emanuel demanded Wednesday that the City Council hold hearings to determine who was responsible for the weekend robocalls that scared 2,000 Chicago election judges into failing to show up at their assigned polling places.

Even after urging state and federal prosecutors to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the dirty trick, Emanuel wants Rules Committee hearings to determine who made the calls to election judges, who provided their names and phone numbers and whether the scheme was tailor-made to depress the Chicago vote.

The mysterious weekend calls informed election judges they would either have to attend yet another training session to qualify for Tuesday's election or vote a certain way. Neither of those conditions was true.

"We all know that, had this been a municipal election, some people would assume certain things... A lot of people would assume there was some under-handed ways dealing from the bottom of the deck here in Chicago," Emanuel told aldermen from the rostrum at Wednesday's City Council meeting.

No word yet on whether Chicago Democrats want to investigate "absentee" ballots in Chicago Mob linked Alderman Ed Burke's ward. Recently, Illinois Democrats changed the law just for the 2014 election- same day registration. Did Chicago Democrats bring on their own confusion??
