The chairman of the powerful Finance Committee has been an alderman for 45 years, since 1969. He told several dozen community representatives, and religious and business leaders gathered together for an Aug. 20 breakfast meeting at the New Pindo’s restaurant that “there is no question that your work and your dedication to this community is what keeps us going.”
