Rahm's New Hiring Scam: Discriminate Against Those Who Went to Catholic and Private Schools in City Hiring

The Chicago Sun-Times reports on strongman Rahm Emanuel:
Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Tuesday stood firm in his decision to give graduates of Chicago Public Schools a leg up on city jobs — including Chicago firefighters — despite surprise opposition from Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis.
Chicago firefighters aren't too happy:
Chicago Firefighters Union President Tom Ryan said again this week that the hiring preference has justifiably enraged the rank and file, many of whom are second- and third-generation firefighters and would like their own children to have the same chance.

Some members whose children attend parochial school are so incensed they’re threatening to file a lawsuit to stop the city from applying the preference on Chicago’s first firefighters entrance exam in a decade.

“Make it fair for all Chicago taxpayers. It should not matter if you attended a public or private school or if you were home-schooled. If a preference is given, it should be given to all Chicagoans,” Ryan told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Even union bosses are for "equal protection under the law" in hiring. Strongman Rahm Emanuel wants some children to be second class citizens later in life! Imagine that.
